It wasn’t so long ago we were looking forward to Summer holidays and here it is Autumn already! Welcome to our first edition of Grow. Protect. Enjoy. for 2017.

The Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, is attributed to have stated “change is the only constant in life” – I’m sure he was correct back in Ancient Greece, but he would be astounded at how true those words are in the 21st Century!

We begin this year with much change but for the sake of space we’re only going to focus on two in this edition – superannuation rules and the age pension assets test. If you are affected by any of these changes, please don’t leave it too late to talk to us.

Not a day goes by that we don’t hear of yet another scam. We’ve shared some tips on how to keep your business safer online so you don’t add to the statistics. If you're not a business owner, this article might help a friend or family member who is.

And if one of your New Year resolutions was to start a home-based business, we’ve offered some guidance to assist you weigh up the pros and cons.

Working with the new super rules

As a large majority of working and retired Australians already know, in late 2016 a raft of changes to the superannuation rules was legislated. Most come into effect from 1 July 2017.
